I study how social structures reshape the conservation, ecology, and evolution of birds.
My postdoctoral research (with Dr. Patricia Jones and the Bowdoin Scientific Station) focuses on pair-bonds in imperiled seabirds.
My graduate research (with Dr. Richard Prum at Yale University) focused on the evolution of adolescent birds in colonies and leks. Why do some birds take 10 years to breed, despite being "fully grown" in their first year of life? Because they live in societies!
My cardiologist says I am "in no acute distress."
